Newly renovated Recreation Centers are being opened in neighborhoods around San Francisco to provide activities ranging from organized sports and exercise, to arts and after-school programs. These centers will serve all ages, from tots to seniors. However, city-wide budget cuts have impeded the Recreation and Park Department’s ability to fully outfit these facilities with the furnishings and equipment necessary to begin delivering these programs. As a long-time RPD partner with an almost 40-year history of supporting parks, San Francisco Parks Trust has established the GearUp Fund to fill this funding gap.

Recreation Centers provide fun, healthy, and constructive activities within their neighborhoods, helping build community with free recreational opportunities that can not be found elsewhere. Help these Recreation Centers get in gear today, and become a neighborhood hero.

UPDATE: With your help, SFPT's Gear Up Fund has given $145,000 to date for recreation center equipment and supplies. SFPT presents $100,000 gift from GearUp Fund- read press release here.
